Job Description - Management Accountant

Job Opportunity - Management Accountant - Permanent

One of my local authority clients are currently on the lookout for a Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Management Accountant

Contract Type: Permanent
Location: East of England
Salary:£36,000
Start Date: End of July
Hours p/w: 37
Hybrid working: X2 days in office per week.

You will be expected to:
Be responsible for providing proactive financial advice and support to a range of services across the Council.
Support budget holders and managers in setting and monitoring the budgets (which could include capital and revenue) within their area of responsibility.
Contribute to the Council's financial strategy and business strategy which inform the setting of the Council revenue and capital budgets annually.
Provide financial advice on service changes, projects and support the development of business cases and plans.
Assist in the preparation of the Statement of Accounts in accordance with proper practices, eg relevant codes of practice and any statutory requirements for those services which have been allocated to the post holder.
Be responsible for the reconciliation on a monthly basis of such accounts which are within the post holders area of responsibility.
Undertake systems administration on the Financial Management System as required including the production of system reports.

Successful candidates must:
Have Experience working within the finance team of a similar sized organisation.
Have experience of working on financial management systems.
Have advance excel skills.
Have sound knowledge of financial/budgetary control in a large organisation preferably local government.
Be AAT qualified or above.
Have evidence of continued professional development.
