Job Description - Management Accountant - Central London - Construction
I am currently looking for a Management Accountant for a Construction based company based in Central London. My client is a leading interior design, build, architecture and work place consultancy firm who provide work place design, fit-out, architecture, interiors and furnishing consultancy services to small start-ups, global enterprises and institutional landlords. They have built an exceptional reputation for market leading design, creating engaging and collaborative spaces that work for businesses and their employees.
As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the financial management and reporting of all trading entities within the group, contributing to robust financial controls, compliance with statutory requirements, and accurate financial insight to support business decision-making.
You will report to the Financial Controller.
Responsibilities
Prepare and process accounting journals (accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, expenses, WIP, payroll) for group entities. Own the month end close process and prepare Management Accounts for the group trading entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to agreed deadlines. Prepare variance analysis, cash flow forecasts, and support balance sheet consolidation as part of month-end reporting. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for allocated entities, ensuring accuracy and resolving reconciling items promptly. Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash positions across group entities, flagging short falls or surpluses to the Financial Controller. Support statutory reporting and year-end accounts preparation, liaising with external auditors as required. Prepare and submit CIS returns, VAT returns, Pension return, PAYE & Pension payments, P11D and PSA submissions, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations. Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of financial controls, processes, and reporting frameworks. Serve as a role model for the team in conduct, performance, and standards, creating a positive and productive work environment Key Skills
Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or equivalent experience Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage competing deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Strong Excel skills-Data analysis, pivot tables and financial modelling Experience with Microsoft365 Dynamics preferred/essential. My client is looking to pay a competitive basic salary up to £60k plus a benefits package dependent on experience.
