Job Description - Management Accountant PQ

Management Accountant (PQ) | £35,000 - £38,000 + Study + Bonus | Chorley | Excellent mentorship and training | Exciting high-growth business

Axon Moore are pleased to be working alongside a highly-valued, industry-leading client as they look to recruit a Part Qualified Management Accountant to their dynamic team. This role will take ownership for the management accounts of a divisional business and will be responsible for two direct reports below.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Prepare monthly management accounts for the divisional business, including profit & loss, variance analysis, and reconciliation work
Analyse performance of key cost areas
Support the budgeting and forecasting process
Manage transactional activity, i.e. AP, AR and cash management across division
Monitor KPIs, reporting and analysis
Assist in producing reports for senior management and the board
Contribute to process improvements and continual improvement practice
Assist with external audits
Support year-end procedures
Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
Additional ad-hoc tasks requested by Financial Controller

Required Skills and Experience:

At least 2 years’ experience within a similar role
Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA or AAT Qualified
Able to develop and maintain good internal and external working relationships
Able to efficiently manage a high-volume workload
Good IT and MS Excel skills
Proactive, self-motivated and organised
Able to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively
