A well-established and forward-thinking accountancy firm in Manchester is looking to appoint a Manager to lead a small team and support a growing client portfolio.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in contractor accounting, who is looking for a new challenge. You'll be joining a supportive, ambitious firm with a modern approach and a solid reputation in the sector.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing a small team of around 5 staff, providing oversight, support and guidance
• Reporting directly to the partner and contributing to the strategic direction of the department
• Taking ownership of a portfolio of clients, primarily within the contractor/subcontractor space
• Reviewing work prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact
• Supporting with training and development of the team
• Getting involved in client advisory work and other hands-on tasks where needed

What we're looking for:

• Strong experience within an accountancy practice environment is essential
• A background in contractor accounting or experience dealing with subcontractors is highly desirable
• ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) preferred, but strong QBE applicants will also be considered
• Confident managing both people and clients
• Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
• A proactive, hands-on approach
