Levels: Associate – Engagement Manager (Junior to Senior Manager)

As part of our team, you’ll grow our business by becoming a trusted client advisor, partnering to solve their business problems with innovative technology enabled solutions. You will be engaged on rich and varied projects ranging from niche technology proof of concepts and venture builds through to digital transformation design, execution and optimisation. Operating within high-performing, collaborative teams consisting of industry experts, consultants, change-makers, creative designers, architects and engineers, you will own the technical project from conception through to delivery, interfacing directly with clients and running point on delivering significant impact.

With technology best practices evolving at an unprecedented rate, we are seeking candidates to support our clients’ technology change journeys driving both efficient technology and technology-enabled efficiency in wider businesses. We seek candidates who can help our clients assess where they are today, define their target state, and develop and support strategies to get them there across people, process, and technology.

Responsibilities and requirements:
Knowledge of modern and emerging technology trends such as Cloud, DevOps, Agile, Data Management, etc. and appreciation of the common technology challenges of large organisations such as legacy technology and talent
Strong technical toolkit including experience with technology project management, enterprise and solution architecture, and modern software engineering best practice
Experience navigating technology functions and programmes including common roles and responsibilities and governance structures
Being able to confidently and effectively communicate with both business and technology-aligned team members and client stakeholders
Ability to lead structured current state diagnostics to identify and prioritise material gaps to best practice within technology functions and programmes
Ability to run the process of generating technology strategies, including interface with overall business strategy, articulation of principles / best practices, business case and KPI development
Ability to design action plans and roadmaps for executing modernisation efforts, working with client stakeholders to co-ordinate priorities dependencies and risks into coherent plans with appropriate over-arching governance

Clients hire Oliver Wyman for specialized expertise, so your industry experience is of enormous value to us. The ideal candidate will have most of the following:
Minimum of 4-8 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting or technology firms, ideally including:
Leading and supporting digital delivery and data projects at scale
Working in the Transportation and Services, Public Sector, HLS sectors
Evidence of a strong consulting toolkit, including:
Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills and delivery of impact
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings
Knowing how to take the initiative, seeking out opportunities to learn new skills and put the ones you’ve already got to good use
Being not just intelligent, but creative too: ready to come up with novel ideas
An aptitude for analytical work, like sniffing out clues in massive data sets or hunting down the key issues in a hugely complex challenge
A willingness to embrace our ways of working, including:
