We are Rolls‑Royce SMR and we’re doing something that’s never been done before. We’re revolutionising an industry. That’s a once‑in‑a‑career opportunity for those excited by such a challenge. This is more than just a job; this is a legacy.
The Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) function is responsible for delivering the integrated electrical systems that underpin the safe, reliable and compliant operation of the SMR power station. Systems Engineering and Safety play a critical role in ensuring these systems meet functional, performance and nuclear safety requirements across the full lifecycle.
As the Manager – Electrical Systems and Safety, you will provide technical leadership across systems engineering and nuclear safety substantiation for Electrical Systems within the SMR programme.
You will lead a team responsible for requirements definition, model‑based systems engineering (MBSE), and verification and validation activities, ensuring full traceability and alignment between system requirements, design solutions and supporting evidence. You will also own and develop the Electrical Systems Safety Case, applying a robust claims–arguments–evidence approach to demonstrate compliance with nuclear safety requirements.
Working closely with design, analysis, safety case and regulatory teams, you will ensure that electrical systems are fully integrated, compliant and supported by high‑quality substantiation throughout the design lifecycle.
