You will drive the operational strategy, ensuring the team operates efficiently, meets regulatory and control requirements, and contributes to broader business objectives. This is a leadership role with significant influence on the growth, scalability, and performance of the Scotland office, offering the opportunity to shape both people and processes in a high-impact function.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a multi-level team of associates, senior associates, and supervisors, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance management
  • Oversee the end-to-end process for settlements, corporate actions and static data across EMEA markets, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and risk mitigation
  • Set operational strategy and priorities, aligning team objectives with broader business goals
  • Manage and mitigate operational and settlement risks, implementing robust controls and ensuring adherence to governance standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, process redesign, and operational efficiency programs
  • Ensure compliance with market deadlines, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks
  • Serve as primary escalation point for complex or high-risk settlement issues
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, influencing outcomes and strategic decisions
  • Oversee audit, regulatory, and governance deliverables, ensuring transparency and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in capital markets operations, with significant exposure to settlements, corporate actions, static data maintenance and trade support
  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering operational objectives in a high-volume, complex environment
  • Deep knowledge of the end-to-end trade settlement, corporate actions and static data  lifecycle across multiple asset classes
  • Strong track record in risk and control management, including embedding frameworks and mitigating operational risk
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing senior leadership and global teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • In-depth knowledge of EMEA settlement market practices and cycles
  • Experience with settlement platforms such as Euroclear, Clearstream, CREST, or similar
  • Experience leading process improvement, automation, or change initiatives
  • Prior experience overseeing audits, regulatory reviews, or control frameworks.
