Job Description - Manager - Financial Services

Flint is a leading advisory firm, serving clients who are managing issues around regulation, policy and politics. We are looking for a Manager with experience in financial services public policy to support the delivery of client work and business development across our fast-growing Asia-Pacific team based in our Singapore office.




This will involve working closely with senior team members across Flint to advise clients on public policy, politics, regulation, and commercial strategy. Flint’s clients want to understand, in detail, how they can build a long-term strategy to thrive commercially in a changing and increasingly uncertain policy environment across the region. 




You will have scope to engage with clients at the most senior levels – including Executive teams and, at times, Board members – and across a wide range of firm types within the sector, from traditional asset managers and banks to data providers and digital finance platforms. The role will provide an unparalleled opportunity to research and analyse the complex policy challenges our clients face and develop options and approaches to address those challenges, backing up recommendations with wider strategic and political analysis.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 



We are looking for candidates who have particular experience in the financial services sector. We welcome any candidates with experience working for government institutions or regulators. We are also open to candidates from commercial backgrounds, including major consulting houses, with a keen interest in politics, policy and regulation. For manager-level roles, we are looking for candidates with 3-6 years’ work experience. 



Our ideal candidate will have:



  • Strong experience in financial services policy fields such as pensions, payments, fintech, crypto, investment management, banking, market access and development with a demonstrated ability to advise on complex regulatory and policy challenges in these areas



  • A professional background in government, a regulator, consultancy, think tank, or industry body in managerial positions



  • Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills - the ability to quickly dive into new topics and draw out the implications of complex evidence and analysis to give clear strategy and policy advice



  • A proven track record of managing projects in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environments



  • Good organisational skills including the capacity to prioritise, plan and schedule complex tasks proactively, and to comfortably work under pressure and to tight deadlines



  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to identify new business opportunities and deliver commercially viable solutions to clients



  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise advice to stakeholders, both in written and verbal forms



  • A collaborative style, with a desire to work in teams to deliver the best outcomes for our clients.

  • Fluency in English is . Aptitude in other regional languages is desirable but not (in particular, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese or Bahasa).
