Job Description:

We’re looking for a Manager, Geospatial Technology to join our Oil & Gas Technology (OGT) team. In this position, you will lead a geospatial unit that delivers technology, data, and analytical solutions across a range of business areas—including Production, Subsurface & Wells, Projects, Crisis, Renewables, and Refining.

This is an opportunity to work with latest geospatial technologies and guide the delivery of high‑impact solutions that support safe, efficient, and innovative operations across the business.

Key Accountabilities:

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide direction and support to team members within the Geospatial Technology team

• Relevant experience in a Geospatial Technical Leadership role

• Balance priorities, workloads, and work you're doing across the team

• Create a positive, inclusive team environment that encourages growth, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement

• Work closely with geospatial SMEs, digital product teams, and other partners to progress key initiatives

Technical Focus Areas - You will contribute your expertise across several geospatial domains, such as:

• Deployment and configuration of geospatial technologies (e.g., sensors, drones, AR/VR, GPS, imagery tools)

• Spatial data management—including spatial databases, coordinate reference systems, image processing, and data security

• Geospatial analysis and modelling, such as spatial statistics, network analysis, and location optimisation

• Spatial data visualisation and development of map‑based applications and dashboards

• Reality capture workflows, 3D modelling, and data integration for visualisation and analysis

• Data transformation workflows using tools like FME and Databricks

• Expertise in one or more data-related programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, R, JavaScript)

• Using ESRI’s ArcGIS suite (Desktop, Pro, Enterprise, and associated APIs)

Experience & Education

• Experience leading or coordinating geospatial technical teams

• Solid understanding of geospatial technology, analytics, and data management

• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights

• Confidence working with diverse partners and managing end‑to‑end delivery

• A collaborative approach, openness to new ideas, and commitment to continuous improvement

• Actively seeking to apply data science techniques; automation and machine learning, including the use of analytical and visualization tools to translate data and interpreted results into actionable insights and value

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

A Master’s degree in GIS, Geospatial, Surveying, Geographic Science, Computer Science, or another related field is welcome.

Candidates with equivalent experience or a related bachelor’s degree plus relevant industry exposure are also encouraged to apply.
