Managing Director - Digital Retained

Oliver Sanderson is engaged with a globally listed business, with roots in Europe, who are one of the world’s leading Engineering companies. A matrix business with a fantastic UK arm that you will be helping to lead as a Managing Director.

The Managing Director will sit within the Digital function and report to the Divisional CEO, managing 4 direct reports. The MD will be responsible for the health and safety, strategic growth, product development, financial performance and ultimate success of the newly formed Digital business in the UK. All of this should be achieved through the creation of a positive culture and driving a high-performance workforce through empowerment.

Key areas of focus:
sustainable and rapid revenue growth from both existing and new clients.
acquisition and retention of key customers.
software development and project teams to deliver upgrades and build automation projects.
P&L responsibility.
opportunities to influence key decision makers.
to new policies around the business proposition and R&D of new technologies.
and stakeholder engagement.’
delivery of people related activities in line with company people life cycle processes,
a workforce plan which ensures the right skillsets and behaviours are in place.

Our client is looking for a strong people leader who can build a high-performance culture, with previous experience in a Managing Director or Operations Director level role. You will have demonstrable scale and growth experience and have previously managed a large P&L (~20M). You will have a sound understanding and experience of risk and opportunity management as well as strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills. You will have technical and digital knowledge and be able to relay technical information clearly to non-technical people. You must have an understanding of cloud-based platforms such as AWS, and data science knowledge is desirable.
