The Role:
An independently backed financial services group is seeking a confident, self-sufficient Managing Director to take full responsibility for a respected financial planning firm in Herefordshire. This is a unique, solo leadership position—perfect for someone who enjoys autonomy, values long-term client relationships, and is ready to run and grow a business with full support behind the scenes.

You’ll inherit a loyal client base of around 140 households (£45m assets under advice), with no short-term pressure to prospect for new business. The focus from day one is on high-quality service, strategic leadership, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day management of the firm, including client relationships and business strategy

• Provide trusted, compliant advice to a predominantly post-retirement client base

• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, revenue, and service delivery

• Leverage full operational support from the network—covering compliance, paraplanning, finance, and systems

• Shape the commercial model—modest adjustments to the fee structure could unlock £350K+ in new revenue

• Work toward an equity stake and play a key role in a wider wealth platform’s growth journey

Who We’re Looking For:

• Chartered Financial Planner (or working towards), with CAS and SPS in place

• Strong background delivering independent financial advice to HNW clients

• Comfortable managing a client bank autonomously

• Strategic thinker with commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset

• Experience in running, leading, or developing an IFA business is a strong advantage

• Ideally able to start in the next 1-2 months (though flexible for the right person)
