Managing Director - Manufacturing

Job DescriptionOur client is part of a larger international group manufacturing a wide range of engineered products used within renewable energy and other types of power generation industries. They are a market leader in their field and have an enviable reputation for innovative engineering and producing premium quality products. A highly profitable business that has seen steady growth over the last five years and yet there is more to achieve based on additional capacity, investment in modern manufacturing equipment and training. The PLC group sees a huge amount of potential in this business hence the amount of investment in the South Wales business over the last three years in particular. Although this site employs a highly capable and knowledgeable team with some great ideas, they need galvanising to develop a new commercial strategy moving forwards, and the new Managing Director will be instrumental in pulling all of this together in order to hit the growth expectations of the group.The operation as a whole produces a strong EBITDA due to efficient engineering and production so a key part of the role will be driving the commercial teams in the right direction towards the geographical regions and industries that will deliver the best returns and are seeing the most growth.To succeed in this role, you could be an existing Managing Director, or someone who is ready to take a step up from within an operations or commercial role. Either way, the client is looking for an ambitious and driven individual who is highly commercial who has used data and market insight to previously develop a successful strategy.This is a unique opportunity to take the reigns of a full P&L within a manufacturing business; including being responsible for Sales, Finance, Engineering, HR and Manufacturing functions and having the autonomy to change and shape the commercial strategy over the next two to five years.
