M&E Contracts Manager (Electrical Bias) - Building Services

Location: London Head Office / Site-Based (UK)
Salary: £70,000 + Benefits (Life Assurance, Pension, Private Medical, Bonus Scheme, Professional Development)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent


An established and highly regarded building services contractor is seeking an experienced M&E Contracts Manager (Electrical Bias) to lead and deliver a portfolio of mechanical and electrical installation projects. With a strong reputation for quality and reliability, this business delivers projects ranging from small works to multi-million-pound schemes across the UK.


The M&E Contracts Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of M&E installation projects (up to £3m annually), ensuring successful delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. You'll manage project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage allocated M&E installation projects from tender to completion.
  • Prepare costings, contract documentation, and valuations.
  • Lead pre-construction planning, sequencing, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee sub-contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, RAMS, and industry regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and client meetings.
  • Monitor budgets, cash flow, and financial performance.
  • Prepare progress reports and project documentation.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in M&E project or contracts management.
  • Background with a recognised M&E contractor, delivering projects up to £1m+.
  • HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Strong commercial acumen with cost management and estimating experience.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of M&E building services.
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and drive safe systems of work.
