Job Description - M&E Quantity Surveyor

As an M&E Quantity Surveyor at Primech Building Services, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the quantity surveying process for Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) projects. Your role will involve working closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage cost plans, estimates, and budgets for M&E projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and prepare project cash flow forecasts.
  • Manage and assess interim valuations, ensuring accurate reporting and payment to subcontractors.
  • Prepare tender documentation, including bills of quantities and specifications.
  • Perform cost analysis and value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Carry out site measurements and valuations; ensure accurate recording of variations and changes.
  • Prepare detailed reports on project progress, costs, and variations for management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and health and safety requirements.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically in M&E projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, legislation, and procurement.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Cost management skills and experience in managing project budgets effectively.
  • Full UK driving license, as field visits and site assessments may be required.
