Location: Ashton-under-Lyne
Salary: Up to £20.00 per hour (depending on experience) plus overtime and shift premiums

We are recruiting for several experienced Manual and CNC Machinists to join a well-established heavy engineering manufacturer in Ashton-under-Lyne. We have opportunities available across a variety of boring and milling machines on permanent day or permanent night shifts.

Manual Vertical Borer Setter/Operator

Manual Horizontal Borer Setter/Operator

CNC Horizontal Borer Setter/Operator/Programmer (Heidenhain)

*

CNC Vertical Borer Setter/Operator/Programmer (Fanuc)

*

CNC Elgamill Setter/Operator/Programmer (Fanuc)

*

CNC Hartford Horizontal Borer Setter/Operator/Programmer (Fanuc)

Key Responsibilities

*

Set, operate and program (where applicable) manual or CNC machines

*

Produce medium to heavy engineering components from technical drawings

*

Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

*

Self-inspect completed components

*

Maintain high quality standards

*

Work overtime when required

Requirements

*

Experience in one or more of the advertised machine types

*

Manual boring experience or turning background for manual vertical borers

*

Manual horizontal boring or milling background

*

Heidenhain experience for CNC horizontal borers

*

Fanuc experience for CNC vertical borers, Elgamill or Hartford machines

*

CAD/CAM experience with Cimco or Fusion is advantageous

*

Ability to work independently and inspect your own work

Shift Patterns

*

Days: Monday to Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm, Friday 8:00am-1:00pm (37 paid hours)

*

Nights: Monday to Thursday 6:00pm-6:00am (4 x 12-hour shifts)

*

Permanent shifts - no rotation

*

Regular overtime available

Benefits

Up to £20.00 per hour depending on experience

Overtime paid at enhanced rates
