Manual Grinder

We are seeking a skilled Grinder to join an established and busy team in the Hemel Hempstead area. You will be responsible for operating grinding machines to shape and smooth rubber surfaces. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work with various tools and materials. This is a good opportunity for growth and development for the right person.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate grinding machines to grind, sand, or polish rubber surfaces

Read and interpret blueprints or job orders to determine grinding specifications

Select and mount grinding wheels on machines according to specifications

Adjust machine controls to regulate factors such as speed, coolant flow, and depth of cut

Inspect finished products for defects and ensure conformance to specifications

Perform basic mathematical calculations to determine dimensions and tolerances

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Skills:

Proficiency in using various hand tools and power tools

Experience working with sheet metal is preferred

Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings

Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations

Mechanical knowledge of grinding machines and their operation

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in work

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 8am-4.30pm

Overtime Available

Pay - £14.50 per hour (negotiable)
