In return, the successful Manual Machinist's responsibilities will include:
•Manual lathe/machining, working from shop engineer specifications
•Machining of components from alteration through to manufacturing from scratch
•Ensuring output conforms to requirements of work instructions, procedures, quality standards and specifications
•Reporting of machine defects, misuse or issues that would prevent safe use by others
•Ensuring the proper functioning of all machine tools and assets, carrying out necessary maintenance
What will you need to succeed..?
•Experience in a manufacturing or repair environment (3 to 5 years industry experience would be advantageous)
•An engineering degree or evidence of previous apprenticeship
•The ability to interpret detailed instructions, engineering drawings and technical reports
•Experience in conventional machining (turning, boring and drilling machines)
•Effective communication skills, coupled with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
