Job Purpose: Work as part of a team and provide a product, process, quality and equipment improvement service in support of Tensar's manufacturing divisions and where appropriate assist research and development activities.
Key responsibilities: To assist the Senior Process Engineer and the Quality and Process Engineering manager in the execution of their duties and work as a principal member of the Tensar Division Operational team. To contribute to the maintenance of world class standards of process knowledge and control within the manufacturing processes of the business. To implement programs for continuous improvement of production outputs, KPI’s, product quality, efficiency, process capability and plant manufacturing organizational excellence, as directed by the Senior Process Engineer and the Quality and Process Engineering manager. Where necessary, apply the relevant advanced statistical techniques to the analysis of either test or process data. To share
knowledge/solutions
across the CMC business as a result of their own investigations and research. Assist in the development of new products and ancillary items where appropriate. Responsible for the implementation of minor/medium level product changes within the TML production facility – e.g. modified knitted products, new polymers etc. within family interpolations etc. Provide support to the Product and Process Technology function in the areas of new product development. Provide guidance and lead within the department on manufacturing systems e.g. SAP, MES, Ignition. Education/Qualifications/Skills/Abilities: Experience in the field of statistical process analysis is required. Preferred but not essential - a degree in a relevant subject, such as Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science, although extensive relevant vocational experience is also acceptable. Previous experience of a similar role in a volume manufacturing environment is preferred. Good understanding and experience of deploying modern manufacturing and quality improvement techniques (e.g. 6 sigma yellow belt, process capability studies, FMEA, SPC, DOE/Taguchi etc.). Previous experience working with SAP / MES / Ignition manufacturing systems is preferred. Ability to work well within a team and self motivated. Ability to influence those that do not report in directly to them. Knowledge ideally within an
engineering/industrial
background. Good data analysis and analytical skills to support data driven decision making. Ability to think creatively and innovatively to develop and implement new ideas. Good verbal and written communication skills, allowing the job holder to communicate to all levels within the business.
