Overview

EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a precision manufacturing business in Warwickshire that is currently in the market for a Manufacturing Engineer with strong multi-axis laser cutting experience.

This role covers sheet metal fabricated components from process setup through to live programme optimisation on the shop floor, and would suit an engineer with genuine hands-on laser cutting and programming experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

As Manufacturing Engineer, you will own the multi-axis laser cutting process from programming through to in-production troubleshooting.

  Make live adjustments to laser programmes at the machine to resolve dimensional issues, including G-code edits where required

  
  


• 
  

  Design fixtures and tooling specific to multi-axis laser cutting processes

  
  


• 
  

  Control the metallurgical quality of cut parts, managing cracking, recast layer and burr

  
  


• 
  

  Work to defined feature and dimensional requirements across a range of components

  
  

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  Proven hands-on experience operating and programming a multi-axis laser cutting machine

  
  


• 
  

  Working knowledge of the CAD/CAM software used for laser programming

  
  


• 
  

  Practical understanding of metallurgical cutting defects, including cracking, recast layer and burring, and how to control them

  
  


• 
  

  Experience designing fixtures and tooling specific to laser cutting processes

  
  


• 
  

  Comfortable making live programme edits at the machine to resolve dimensional issues
