SRG are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for an exciting client based in Surrey. Working at the interface of manufacturing, quality, process engineering and supply chain, you will take ownership of material and process production throughout the production lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Drive manufacturing excellence across high-volume materials production processes Support the industrialisation and scale-up of new products and processes, ensuring smooth transition from development into full-scale manufacturing Ensure consistent product quality through effective process control, validation and continuous improvement activities Develop and improve manufacturing processes to increase capability, reduce variability, and improve product performance Analyse manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and implement sustainable corrective actions Work closely with suppliers to improve raw material quality, consistency and performance Lead investigations into manufacturing issues, non-conformances, deviation and customer complaints using structured problem-solving techniques Implement and maintain robust quality control and quality assurance practices across production operations Drive supplier quality initiatives, including supplier qualification, audits, performance monitoring and corrective action management
Criteria:
Degree qualified in Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline Experience supporting process scale-up, industrialisation or new product introduction activities Experience within high-volume manufacturing environments, such as chemicals, advanced materials, coatings, slurries, ceramics, battery materials, pharmaceuticals, or similar process industries Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process capability and production quality requirements Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives within an industrial manufacturing setting Experience working with suppliers and managing material quality concerns Knowledge of statistical methods and process control techniques Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Experience:
Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and 8D methodologies Familiarity with material characterisation, testing and validation techniques Understanding of supplier quality management and auditing processes.
