Manufacturing Project Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Groups Technical Engineering division are recruiting for a world-leading manufacturer who are looking for a Manufacturing Project Engineer, to support on new product introduction (NPI) and new product development (NPD) activities at their South Yorkshire manufacturing site.

In this role you will convert concept designs into cost-effective, high-quality manufacturing outputs and provide project leadership to the manufacturing design and fabrication/prototyping teams.

As the Manufacturing Project Engineer you will:

• Leading projects through the full NPI stage gate validation process to ensure cost-effective manufacture and quality outcomes

• Assigning tasks to the design and prototyping team, driving timely delivery of project plans and objectives

• Managing the design and manufacture of new jigs and fixtures to support the launch of new products and parts

• Coordinating DFM assessments, prototyping, BOMs, tooling, process capability, inspection criteria, SOPs, and production training

• Providing clear project plans with milestones, resources, risk mitigation, and agreed timescales

• Liaising with New Product Design teams to capture and resolve manufacturing concerns efficiently

• Ensuring subcontractors deliver jigs and fixtures on time and to specification, escalating where timelines are at risk

• Facilitating internal NPI review meetings and communicating project status effectively

• Leading engineering change management processes between R&D, production, and stock control, updating trackers and improving processes continuously

• Proposing new design solutions aligned with automation advancements to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance production throughput and quality

To be considered for the Manufacturing Project Engineer role you will need:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (HND may be considered)

• Strong experience leading NPI projects within a manufacturing environment

• 3D and 2D CAD skills (preferably CREO or equivalent)

• Knowledge of fabrication, welding, and machining processes

• Experience of NPI stage gate controls (APQP advantageous)
