Marine Product Owner - EV/Marine - £40k to £65k - Northern Ireland

My client is a leader in marine technology, committed to delivering innovative and high-quality solutions for the marine industry. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Marine Product Owner to join our team and drive the development and success of our marine product line.

Role:

Marine Product Owner
Salary: £40,000 to £65,000 (depending on experience)
Location - Northern Ireland
Hybrid

The Marine Product Owner will be responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, and lifecycle management of our marine products. This role requires a deep understanding of the marine industry, a strong technical background, and exceptional leadership skills to ensure our products meet market demands and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development Leadership:

Lead the technical delivery of marine products, ensuring all solutions meet stringent industry requirements and customer needs.
Project Coordination:

Manage Product Development work streams including Requirements Engineering, Product Documentation, Certification, System Engineering, and Test and Validation.
Voice of the Customer:

Advocate for customer needs, ensuring they are integrated into Technology and R&D work streams and roadmaps.
Applications Engineering Strategy:

Develop and implement a customer-focused Applications Engineering strategy, utilizing in-house simulation and tool chain capabilities to support customer acquisition and satisfaction.
Customer Support:

Act as the primary representative for customers, guiding them through the Application, Ordering, and Production processes.
Commercial Support:

Participate in contract discussions and negotiations, providing support to the Sales Team to secure and manage commercial agreements.
Cross-Functional Coordination:

Lead cross-functional teams in Technical, Commercial, and Operations departments to ensure product suitability and customer satisfaction while achieving financial targets.
Market Analysis:

Identify market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform product development and strategy.
Product Portfolio Management:

Manage the marine product portfolio, identifying and developing new products and processes aligned with the business strategy.
Compliance:

Ensure product designs adhere to legal and regulatory standards, maintaining compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
User Experience:

Understand and integrate end-to-end user, operator, and customer experiences into product development.
Pricing Strategies:

Assist the commercial team in developing effective pricing strategies.
Project Management:

Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure successful product launches and lifecycle management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in product management or product ownership within the marine industry.
Strong technical background with an understanding of marine systems and technology.
Excellent leadership and project management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in the marine industry.
Ability to analyse market trends and customer needs to inform product strategy.
