Job Description - Marketing Lead

Job Description

About Your Patient Choice

Your Patient Choice is creating a new NHS technology-enabled healthcare provider for both mental and physical health. We are driven by the vision of making free NHS healthcare accessible and higher quality for patients, and more affordable for the NHS.

We are unique as:

  • We have built our own innovative patient-centred care pathways. These are delivered by our internal clinical teams using our in-house technology platform.
  • Our founders (medical doctor Mark Jenkins and healthcare entrepreneur Darshak Shah) have previously built tech-enabled providers in NHS obesity and ophthalmology care (treating over 1 million patients in the last 10 years), and want to bring these lessons to all outpatient specialties.
  • We are able to move fast as we have raised funds from leading healthcare investors Triple Point and Heal Capital, as well as expert angels who deeply understand the NHS.

Our first service, autism assessments for children and teens, is launching soon, and will be followed by ADHD assessments and treatment for children and teens, and dementia assessments and treatment for adults.

We know 184,000 people are waiting 2-10 years for an NHS autism assessment today, and we need your help to shorten this wait! (

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented Marketing Lead to be our first marketing hire at Your Patient Choice. In this dynamic role, you will shape and lead our marketing strategy, drive brand awareness with patients and GPs, and ultimately drive referrals into our services.

As an early stage startup, the Marketing Lead will initially be the sole marketer in the business leading all marketing efforts as an individual contributor. As the business scales, we anticipate investing further to build out the marketing team and its capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy from the ground up, aligned with Your Patient Choice's vision, mission, and core values.
  • User Acquisition: Drive user acquisition through a variety of digital marketing channels, including paid advertising, organic search, social media, email marketing, and partnerships. Track and analyse acquisition performance, using data insights to continuously improve strategies and optimise results.
  • Content Development: Create compelling content for marketing campaigns, including website copy, blog posts, social media content, and email newsletters. Where required, you will identify and manage freelancers to support this.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and return on investment.
  • Partner with our external designer to support all material development.
  • Stay abreast of the latest marketing trends and technologies, including digital marketing platforms and data analytics tools.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including product and clinical teams, to ensure differentiated messaging to patients and referrers.
  • With success in the role, there can be opportunities to hire, manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fast-paced marketing environment. Some of this should be in companies at a startup stage, growing fast, and ideally in healthcare.
  • Your marketing skills should include:
  • Developing and executing successful DTC marketing campaigns.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing channels and best practices, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing and paid social.
  • Proven track record of data-driven decision-making and achieving objectives.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Your wider skills should include:
  • A willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done at pace, leveraging strong prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Passion for innovation and digital tools to enhance marketing effectiveness.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards as ultimately we care for patients.
  • Desirable but not essential skills:
  • Offline (particularly targeted flyering) marketing experience
  • Team management experience

Don’t meet every requirement? Studies have shown that women and people from ethnic minority groups are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Your Patient Choice we are dedicated to building a diverse and top performing workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align with every qualification, we strongly encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles!

Benefits:

  • £60-75k salary based on experience, annual salary reviews, 5% employer pension, equity options, and high-spec company laptop.
  • A unique benefits package including 34 days annual leave (including public holidays) and a two-week paid sabbatical per 3 years of service.
  • Flexible and hybrid working at our office in central London. Spending time together both at work and through regular socials is really important to us to build culture, trust and a great working environment.
  • Working with incredibly smart and driven colleagues who want to make a tangible impact on improving access to healthcare for people in England.

Equality & Diversity:

Your Patient Choice is an equal-opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion both within the workplace and throughout our application process. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

We understand that applying for a new job takes a lot of work and we value your time. We are looking forward to reading your application.

Time commitment: Full time

Location: Hybrid between home and office in central London.

Reporting to: the CEO, Dr Mark Jenkins
