Marketing Manager | Independent Trade Publisher | London | Permanent (Full or Part time)

Our partner: Our partner is an established independent publishing business with a reputation for creating engaging content for a broad audience. With a strong presence in both the UK and international markets, adult and children’s titles, they combine creativity with commercial thinking and continue to evolve their digital channels to reach readers in new and effective ways.

The role could be shaped to accommodate a 3 -5 day working week for the right person.

Responsibilities: Developing and executing digital marketing activity that supports audience growth, engagement and sales.
  • Manage marketing campaigns from start to finish, including paid social media campaigns across a variety of channels, monitor performance metrics
  • Oversee the catalogue and some other marketing materials (outsourcing design where necessary)
  • Grow and develop mailing lists and optimise automated email marketing campaigns, identifying opportunities to increase subscribers and improve engagement
  • Work effectively with a variety of influencers, and help garner reviews and interest
  • Manage website content, including creating and updating articles that attract visitors and support commercial objectives
  • Advising on social media channels and creating some content

Experience and skills that will deliver success in this role: The right candidate is a proactive and commercially minded marketer who has a proven track record of delivering successful campaigns across email, web and social channels, within book publishing. They will enjoy balancing creativity with data analysis and be confident managing multiple projects at once.

Essential
  • Previous experience of running book marketing campaigns, ideally across both adult non -fiction and/or children’s titles, including digital advertising and working with influencers  
  • Previous experience with email marketing (Brevo), updating the website (Wordpress), garnering online reviews, and e -book promotion
  • Strong copywriting and content editing skills, with the ability to write engaging marketing communications
  • Understanding of SEO principles and content optimisation
  • Experience of managing social media accounts
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of author care and event management (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience measuring campaign performance and using insights to improve results
