* Salary from £28,000 per annum, pro rata (based on a 3-day working week), depending on experience.
* Part-time, on-site role, 20 hours per week
* 28 days’ annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata based on working hours)
* Due to the nature of the business, some flexibility will be required to support, and get content from, key events, launches and activities, which may include occasional evenings, weekends or bank holidays.
* Due to the nature of the role and the requirement to be present for events, we are ideally looking for someone based within easy travelling distance of Hedingham Castle.

We are seeking a creative and commercially minded Marketing Manager to take ownership of the Castle’s marketing activity and play a key role in supporting this next stage of development. The successful candidate will be responsible for building awareness, driving enquiries and increasing engagement across weddings, events, visitor experiences and venue hire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery — developing campaigns, creating engaging content and seeing the direct impact of their work within a unique and historic venue.
The Role
Working closely with the owners and small core team, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering Hedingham Castle’s marketing strategy across weddings, events, visitor experiences and venue hire.
The successful candidate will take ownership of all marketing activity, ensuring the Castle’s brand is consistently represented across digital and offline channels, while developing campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, enquiries and revenue.
This is a varied and creative role suited to someone who is proactive, organised and confident working independently within a small team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing strategy & planning
Develop and deliver an effective marketing strategy that supports the Castle’s commercial objectives and growth plans.
Create and manage annual and seasonal marketing plans across weddings, events, tourism and private hire.
Identify opportunities to grow audiences, increase engagement and drive bookings across all areas of the business.
Work closely with the Events & Experiences Manager to understand upcoming events, audiences and objectives, ensuring marketing activity maximises awareness, attendance and revenue.
Monitor marketing performance and use insights, data and customer feedback to improve future activity.
Digital marketing & content creation
Manage and develop Hedingham Castle’s social media presence across relevant platforms, with a strong focus to grow audiences on Instagram and TikTok
Create engaging content including video, reels, stories, blogs and written content.
Develop and maintain content calendars aligned with events, weddings, seasonal campaigns and business priorities.
Capture and showcase the unique character, history and experiences offered by the Castle.
Monitor audience engagement, trends and performance to continually improve content and reach.
Ensure brand tone, messaging and visual identity are consistent across all channels.
Campaign management
Plan, create and deliver integrated marketing campaigns across digital and print channels.
Develop promotional campaigns for events, experiences, weddings and venue hire opportunities.
Manage email marketing activity including newsletters, customer communications and event promotions.
Produce marketing materials including brochures, flyers, adverts, invitations and event collateral.
Coordinate with external suppliers including designers, photographers, printers and advertising partners.
Manage campaign timelines and ensure activity is delivered effectively and on schedule.
Website & online presence
Manage and update website content to ensure information is accurate, engaging and aligned with customer needs.
Support improvements to website content, user experience and customer journeys.
Manage the external event ticketing platform, ensuring events are accurately set up, ticketing information is up to date, customer journeys are seamless and sales opportunities are maximised.
Ensure key events, experiences and booking opportunities are effectively represented online.
Monitor website performance and identify opportunities to increase enquiries and conversions.
Brand development, PR & partnerships
* Maintain and strengthen Hedingham Castle’s brand identity across all customer touchpoints.
* Identify opportunities for PR, media coverage and partnerships to increase awareness.
* Build relationships with relevant tourism organisations, local businesses and community partners.
* Support collaborations and promotional opportunities that align with the Castle’s objectives.
* Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing materials and communications.
About You
We are looking for a creative, passionate and commercially aware marketing professional who enjoys taking ownership and making a visible impact.
You will be confident developing marketing strategies but equally happy creating content, managing campaigns and getting involved in the day-to-day delivery of activity.
You will enjoy working in a varied environment where no two days are the same and where your ideas can directly influence the growth and success of the business.
Essential skills and experience:
* Proven experience in a marketing role with responsibility for delivering campaigns and managing multiple channels.
* Strong copywriting and content creation skills including video
* Experience managing social media channels and creating engaging digital content, including photography and video content for social and online platforms.
* Experience creating marketing materials for digital and print using design tools such as Canva.
* Experience managing email marketing campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp or similar.
* Experience updating and managing website content through platforms such as Squarespace (or similar website CMS platforms).
* Ability to plan, prioritise and manage projects independently.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail with a creative approach.
* Good understanding of digital marketing principles and audience engagement.
* Ability to analyse performance and use insights to improve results.
Desirable experience:
* Experience marketing events, weddings, hospitality, tourism or visitor attractions.
* Experience working within a small business or independently managed environment.
* Experience using website CMS platforms, email marketing tools and analytics.
* Experience managing online booking or ticketing platforms.
* Experience developing partnerships, PR opportunities or community engagement.
* Experience with AI systems
