Marketing Manager – Specification & Projects

Warrington | Hybrid | £35,000–£45,000 + bonus

I’m working with an established, product-led business in Warrington who are creating a brand new Marketing Manager role focused on their Specification & Projects business.

As this is a brand new position, you’ll have a huge amount of autonomy to build the strategy, develop new ideas and create the marketing approach from the ground up.

The aim is simple: build awareness, generate demand and get the business specified on more projects.
What will you be doing?

You’ll own the marketing strategy for the Specification & Projects side of the business, working closely with the Specification Director and Sales team.

You’ll be responsible for:

Developing the specification marketing strategy and activity plan
Identifying target sectors, accounts and audiences
Understanding architects, consultants, contractors and project decision-makers
Developing propositions and messaging for different sectors
Creating content such as CPDs, educational materials, case studies and technical thought leadership
Supporting the Specification Sales team with marketing and sales enablement
Developing campaigns across events, PR, digital, email and account-based marketing
Building lead generation and nurturing activity
Working with CRM teams to track leads and measure the project pipeline
Managing external agencies across content, PR, digital, events and design
Measuring what is working and continually improving the approach
This is much less about traditional brand marketing and much more about building a new commercial marketing channel.

You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with Sales, Technical, Product and Commercial teams and really understand the audiences you're trying to influence.

What are they looking for?
You’ll ideally have experience in B2B, specification, project or account-based marketing.

Experience within construction, building products, architecture, engineering, electrical, HVAC, fire protection or another technical/product-led environment would be particularly relevant.

You’ll ideally have experience with:

B2B marketing
Specification or project marketing
Architects, consultants, contractors or other professional audiences
Lead generation and nurturing
Technical or educational content
Case studies and thought leadership
Events and partnerships
CRM and pipeline measurement
Agency and project management
You don’t necessarily need to have worked in lighting. What’s important is that you’re comfortable understanding a technical product or service and turning that into a proposition that makes sense to a professional audience.

The business
This is a brand new position, so you’ll have a huge amount of freedom to shape it.

They’re looking for someone who is entrepreneurial in their approach, enjoys figuring things out and won’t be afraid to bring new ideas and try something different.

What’s on offer?

£35,000–£45,000 salary
Flexibility around salary for the right person
Monthly bonus of up to £300 based on company performance
Hybrid working – 3 days in the Warrington office / 2 from home
