Material Controller

SF Recruitment are working with a leading, global business in Cradley Heath to recruit a material controller. An excellent opportunity within a busines that prides itself on a fantastic working culture.

JOB SPECIFICATION
In this position, you will ensure that a range of components and commodities are purchased from our Global supply base to meet business aims and objectives in material cost, technical and quality standards, lead times and service levels. Involvement in Supplier spend of +£10m per annum. The role will be based in Cradley Heath

JOB DUTIES
- Source new Suppliers based on specific qualification and selection criteria to cater for growth, risk reduction and new product developments.
- To evaluate Suppliers on delivery performance and cost, maintain accurate records of all Supplier details, including supplier performance metrics and ensure Quality is maintained through engagement with Group Quality personnel.
- Resolve Supplier underperformance in a prompt timescale including termination of current agreements and sourcing a suitable replacement Supplier.
- Purchase order management through an MRP System to include placement of orders and Supplier expediting.
- Negotiation and implementation of cost down procedures and monthly reporting.
- Management of inventory levels to meet Company targets. Work with Suppliers regarding inventory held at their facility and maintain parameters set in accordance with targeted stock goals.
- Submission of regular reporting to the Management Team to meet Company deadlines.
- To ensure Supplier on time delivery performance with acknowledged targeted due dates.
- Specific project based duties that will be required as defined by the Management Team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in an administration role within a manufacturing/distribution environment
- Must be computer literate and have a practical working knowledge of MRP/CRM Systems, Word and Excel.
- Inventory parameter review analysis experience preferred.
- A strong communicator with good verbal and written skills.
- Must be able to work as part of a team but will also be able to work on their own initiative, to ensure that all Company Supply Chain goals are met.
