Material Handler 2

Job Summary:

The Material Handler 2 supports the logistics team by safely unloading, staging, moving, and distributing materials across the solar job site. This role is hands-on and vital to maintaining the flow of materials needed for solar panel and racking system installation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with unloading trucks and verifying materials against delivery paperwork.

• Safely handle and transport solar panels, racking, wiring, and other construction components.

• Stage materials in designated laydown areas or installation zones based on site layout plans.

• Use forklifts or manual methods to move materials as directed.

• Help track quantities and conditions of received materials.

• Report missing or damaged materials to supervisor immediately.

• Maintain clean and organized laydown and staging areas.

• Follow logistics workflows to ensure material availability does not delay construction.

• Communicate with logistics supervisors, equipment operators, and installation crews.

• Follow daily assignments and adjust to changes as directed by the logistics lead.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience as a material handler or general laborer (solar or construction preferred).

• Familiarity with construction site safety and basic material handling practices.

• Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly.

• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

• Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.

Work Environment:

• Outdoor solar farm construction site.

• Fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

• Exposure to heat, dust, and noise.
