Job Advert: Electroplating & Metal Finishing Process Engineer (Permanent) - Kent - £37,000
A fantastic opportunity has opened for an experienced Electroplating / Metal Finishing Process Engineer to join a manufacturing site in Kent on a permanent basis. You'll take ownership of electroplating and metal finishing processes-driving standards, improving capability, and supporting the introduction of new finishes in line with business objectives.
Salary: £37,000 Location: Kent (site-based) Type: Permanent Right to work: No visa sponsorship available (you must already have the right to work in the UK)
The Role
In this role, you will analyse, maintain and continuously improve the processes and standards of electroplating and metal finishing across the site. You'll also support the development and validation of new processes and finishes, ensuring all activity remains compliant with Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements.
This position may include direct management and leadership responsibilities, depending on experience and site needs.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse current electroplating and metal finishing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement (quality, yield, throughput, cost, repeatability) Maintain and improve process standards, work instructions, and operating controls Develop and introduce new processes and finishes aligned to company objectives Support trials, validation, troubleshooting and root-cause investigations (including corrective and preventative actions) Ensure ongoing compliance with H&S, environmental, quality, and GMP standards (current and future) Contribute to audits, documentation, and continuous improvement projects Provide technical guidance and, where required, lead / manage team members to deliver operational objectives
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in electroplating and/or metal finishing in a manufacturing environment Strong working knowledge of process control, continuous improvement, and technical problem solving Demonstrable commitment to H&S and quality-led manufacturing Understanding of regulated/controlled environments (e.g., GMP) is highly beneficial Ability to influence stakeholders on the shopfloor and cross-functionally; leadership/people-management capability is a plus
