Materials Control Planner

Materials Planner | £27k - £30k | Lincoln | Permanent
37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Are you a confident and organised individual looking to kickstart or grow your career in materials planning? We have an exciting opportunity to join a thriving and respected manufacturing business with a global presence. This role offers full training for the right candidate and the chance to develop within a business that exports to over 80 countries and produces over 50,000 high-quality products annually. You’ll be joining a small, experienced team that plays a crucial role in keeping the production line running smoothly by ensuring timely and adequate supply of materials. As a Materials Planner, you will support the wider production team by placing and scheduling orders, coordinating with suppliers, managing stock levels, and reacting quickly to changes in the production schedule

What we're looking for:

• Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and in person
• Ability to stay calm and work effectively under pressure
• Proactive approach with good organisational skills
• Keen eye for detail and high level of accuracy
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Competent IT user (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Previous admin experience is essential

The finer elements of the role include:

• Expedite component shipments to meet production timelines
• Manage supplier order books to ensure on-time, in-full delivery
• Analyse demand and take proactive steps to avoid shortages
• Place and manage purchase and works orders via MRP system
• Attend shortage meetings and highlight risks to production
• Handle stock queries, adjustments, and general admin tasks
• Support wider team with materials control objectives
