Materials Engineer

Reed have partnered with an electronic manufacture in the Cynon valley who are recruiting for a Bills of Materials (BOM) Engineer to join their developing engineering team in South Wales. This role is crucial for creating and maintaining the bills of materials for connector and interconnect parts, ensuring high efficiency and accuracy in production processes.

• Create parts and manage the bills of materials within the system.
• Review Engineering change notes and update BOMs as necessary.
• Set up new options and/or create rules to support various build configurations.
• Read, understand, and communicate Engineering drawings and production documentation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure the content and timing of BOM are always up to date.

• Experience in developing and creating Bills of Materials.
• Technical knowledge of product structure and processes, with an understanding of BOM and the ability to read technical drawings of high complexity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong stakeholder relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to engineering excellence and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to work well independently and within a team.
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively.
