Materials Manager required by leading manufacturing company, based in Gloucester. The successful Materials Manager will oversee materials management, internal recycling processes, procurement activities, and site logistics operations.

Main Duties: Materials Manager

Managing the collection, segregation, storage, and reprocessing of production waste materials.
Planning and coordinating recycling operations, including shredding and pelletising waste materials for reuse in production.
Overseeing materials handling, warehouse activities, product packing, and vehicle loading to support customer delivery requirements.
Ensuring that all incoming goods and purchase order receipts are checked for quantity and specification compliance before stock allocation.
Raising and expediting purchase orders for production materials and consumables.
Monitoring supplier performance and negotiating prices to keep costs down
Working closely with production, planning, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth material flow and on-time delivery performance.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Materials Manager

A background within a similar material planning or supply chain role ideally gained within a manufacturing or engineering or equivalent environment
Strong inventory management and stock control experience
Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and influence others
Strong IT skills with experience using stock control or ERP systems.
Outstanding organisation and negotiation skills
