We require an ambitious, intellectually rigorous Mathematics Teacher to deliver high-quality numerical, algebraic, and statistical instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The role involves delivering a challenging, concepts-first state curriculum that builds mathematical fluency, logical reasoning, and confident problem-solving capabilities in all student cohorts.
Curriculum Design & Instruction: Plan, resource, and execute highly structured, evidence-based mathematics lessons that challenge students across all academic profiles and learning requirements.
Examination Preparation: Guide Key Stage 4 classes systematically through the demands of terminal GCSE mathematics specifications, implementing retrieval practices and exam-board strategies to maximize progress outcomes.
Progress Diagnostics: Run regular formative and summative assessment routines, using pupil tracking data to diagnose learning misconceptions and design sharp, targeted intervention sessions.
Numeracy Drive: Assist the broader department in implementing cross-curricular numeracy strategies, fostering mathematical confidence and mathematical application across all subjects.
Pastoral Responsibilities: Undertake full form tutor duties, managing morning registration, tracking pupil attendance, and delivering the school's structured personal and social development units.
Foundation School Framework: Operating under a Foundation School framework, our institution is maintained by the local authority but managed by our own governing body, which holds the land and employs the staff directly. This structure fosters a strong, independent campus culture deeply anchored in the regional community.
Behaviour Systems: The campus implements highly consistent, school-wide behaviour routines that maintain a quiet, respectful, and orderly atmosphere, ensuring classrooms remain entirely calm, predictable, and focused on learning.
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or a highly quantitative discipline.
Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics in terminal public examinations through explicit, highly engaging whole-class instruction.
Routine Implementation: The ability to execute school behaviour policies with absolute consistency, maintaining a positive, highly focused, and strictly disciplined classroom culture.
Innovation & Tech Hub: Based in Norwich, the school operates within a historic, culturally vibrant cathedral city that anchors the fast-growing Cambridge-Norwich Tech Corridor, positioning the area as a prominent regional center for life sciences, agri-tech, and digital innovation.
Connectivity: The location offers premier Norfolk transport infrastructure, providing efficient commuting options via key arterial networks (A11, A47, Broadland Northway) alongside direct Greater Anglia rail connections running straight through Norwich station to Cambridge and London Liverpool Street.
