An independent specialist school on the outskirts of Horsham is looking to appoint a dedicated and dynamic Maths Teacher to join their growing team. This role offers a chance to shape the learning journey of students in a nurturing, well-resourced, and progressive setting.

As a key member of the teaching team, you will deliver an engaging and accessible Maths curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of learners in Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a crucial part in creating an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive, regardless of their starting point.

• Designing and delivering high-quality, differentiated Maths lessons that are tailored to meet a wide range of SEN needs.

• Adapting curriculum content to support students with Autism.

• Using varied assessment strategies to track progress, provide feedback, and inform next steps in learning.

• Creating a calm, safe, and stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages student confidence and curiosity.

• Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, TAs, and specialists to meet each student's individual needs.

• Contributing to the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

• Promoting a love of Maths and engaging with wider school initiatives.

• Maintaining accurate records and liaising with families and external professionals as needed.

• Engaging in professional development and supporting the school's inclusive, aspirational ethos.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Has strong subject knowledge in Maths, ideally with experience teaching KS3 and KS4.

• Brings experience or a deep interest in working with young people with SEN, particularly Autism.

• Can confidently differentiate teaching strategies to support individual learning needs.

• Is calm, resilient, and empathetic, with excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

• Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

• Is creative, reflective, and open to trying new approaches.
