About the Role
A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Stockport is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Qualified Maths Teacher (QTS) to join our successful Mathematics Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them to develop confidence, fluency, and a strong understanding of mathematics.
You will join a supportive team dedicated to raising achievement and delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and well-structured Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with curriculum expectations
* Track and support student progress, ensuring all learners are challenged and supported
* Develop students’ problem-solving and numerical reasoning skills
* Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
* Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
* Support extracurricular activities such as maths clubs, competitions, or revision sessions
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A degree in Mathematics or a related subject
* Strong subject knowledge across the secondary Maths curriculum
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
* A passion for making Maths engaging and accessible
* High expectations for student achievement and behaviour
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
