Job Title: Maths Lecturer – GCSE & Functional Skills

Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Hours: 18.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE), Monday to Friday

Salary: £35,112 – £41,600 per year full-time equivalent (approximately £17,556 – £20,800 actual for 18.5 hours), depending on qualifications and experience

Contract: Part-time, Permanent

About the role:

A well-regarded Further Education college in Great Yarmouth is seeking a Maths Lecturer to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills Maths to adult learners. The college is passionate about making education accessible and successful for all, and its adult provision continues to grow and engage the local and wider community.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging maths sessions across GCSE and Functional Skills, assessing and tracking learner progress, adapting teaching to a wide range of abilities and starting points, and supporting adult learners to build confidence and achieve their qualifications.

Requirements:

* Experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths

* Experience of teaching or engaging adult learners is highly desirable

* Level 2 or equivalent in English and maths, with certificated evidence

* A recognised teaching qualification is desirable (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET/DTLLS or equivalent); candidates without one will be supported to achieve it within three years

* Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to undergo one)
