SANZA Teaching Agency are working with an independent special school in Dagenham that provides tailored education and therapeutic support for children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as additional learning challenges. The school caters to both primary and secondary students.

They are seeking a calm, nurturing Maths teacher for KS3 & KS4 Maths to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to teach small class groups in a nurturing, structured, and therapeutic environment where every lesson helps build not only academic success, but emotional growth and confidence.

This maths teacher position would suit a teacher with experience in mainstream settings but has a keen interest in transitioning over to working within (SEMH) Social, Emotional, Mental Health.

  • A small school which aims to provide a family atmosphere where pupils and families feel supported
  • Taking a holistic approach to the child's learning journey
  • Usually, they look for someone who is familiar with the national curriculum, academic, creative, and nurturing towards the children.

As a maths teacher, you will:

  • Have QTS
  • Work closely with teachers to support students and create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Support the learning of children in the class, including individual, small and large groups as directed
  • Monitor, assess and support children that have social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties, and possibly other special educational needs
  • Establish trusting, nurturing relationships with young people and endeavour to protect, care and facilitate their growth and development across all areas
