Astute's Power team is proud to be partnering with a leading Biodiesel company to hire a Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader to join their COMAH site in Ellesmere Port.

The Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader role comes with a starting salary of up to £60,000 + overtime.

Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will:

Lead and supervise the mechanical maintenance team, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
Plan and deliver preventative, planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities.
Ensure all maintenance tasks are accurately recorded and closed out within the CMMS.
Manage maintenance stores, spare parts and critical equipment to maintain stock availability.
Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across the maintenance team.
Coach, mentor and develop technicians through training, performance management and competency assessments.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability, reduce downtime and control maintenance costs.
Manage contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, to specification and in line with company procedures.
Work closely with the Planner and Reliability Engineer to ensure maintenance schedules are delivered on time.
Liaise with Procurement to source cost-effective maintenance services and ensure purchasing procedures are followed.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
Proven mechanical maintenance experience within the chemical, oil & gas, process, power generation or similar heavy industrial environment.
Previous experience leading maintenance teams or supervising contractors.
Experience using CMMS maintenance management systems.
IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous. HNC in Mechanical Engineering and COMAH site experience are desirable.
