Location: Holmfirth, West Yorkshire
Salary: £42,436 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, with occasional overtime and call-outs

The Opportunity

10 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site in Holmfirth.

We are looking for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer with strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience and some electrical knowledge. The role is predominantly mechanical, with the electrical side focused on basic maintenance tasks and working safely around electrical systems, including changing motors when required.

This is a hands-on position where you will be responsible for keeping production machinery running reliably, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance and responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.

 The Role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
* Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults and breakdowns.
* Changing and replacing motors, bearings, belts, pumps, gearboxes and other mechanical components.
* Carrying out basic electrical maintenance tasks within your level of competence.
* Changing motors and working safely around electrical systems.
* Identifying the cause of machinery breakdowns and carrying out effective repairs.
* Carrying out routine inspections and checks on production equipment.
* Assisting with the installation, commissioning and improvement of machinery.
* Working closely with production teams to minimise machinery downtime.
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation.
* Supporting contractors and external engineers when required.
* Following all relevant Health & Safety procedures and site requirements.
* Supporting continuous improvement and machinery reliability.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical background and enough electrical knowledge to confidently undertake basic electrical maintenance work.

You will ideally have:

* Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* A mechanical engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent.
* Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
* Experience working on industrial machinery and production equipment.
* Experience changing motors and other mechanical components.
* Basic electrical knowledge and experience working safely around electrical equipment.
* Experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
* A practical approach to diagnosing and resolving machinery breakdowns.
* Good Health & Safety awareness.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.

Experience within textile or similar process/manufacturing machinery would be advantageous but is not essential.
