Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer

An established, independent M&E Building Services Design Consultancy with over 40 years of experience is seeking an experienced Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract.

Our client specialises in technically complex projects, particularly in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Research and Education sectors. This is a great opportunity to work on interesting and challenging design projects in a supportive team environment.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems across a range of pharmaceutical and specialist building projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Design of mechanical building services including HVAC, heating, ventilation, cooling, and associated piped services

* Production of detailed calculations, specifications, drawings and reports

* Coordination with other design disciplines and stakeholders

* Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, regulations and client requirements

* Providing technical support during the construction phase

* Value engineering and sustainability input

Requirements

* Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer

* Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems design

* Experience working on pharmaceutical or highly regulated projects is highly advantageous

* Proficient user of AutoCAD (Revit/BIM experience preferred)

* Excellent communication, technical and coordination skills

Contract Details

* Duration: 6 months (potential for extension)
