I am recruiting on behalf of a client in the Walsall area, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on bespoke, high-specification equipment that plays a critical role in industrial and energy infrastructure projects. You will take ownership of complex design tasks from concept through to manufacture, ensuring compliance with relevant engineering codes and customer specifications.

Duties:

Design and develop bespoke mechanical assemblies and engineered systems used in complex industrial environments
Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and technical documentation for manufacturing and client approval
Carry out design calculations, stress analysis, and material selection in line with codes
Liaise with cross-functional teams across engineering, production, and quality to ensure successful project delivery
Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, product efficiency, and manufacturability
Maintain accurate design records and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

Requirements:

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within heavy engineering environments
Strong knowledge of relevant international design codes and standards
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
