Mechanical Design Engineer

The Role
As a Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing new equipment and improving existing product lines. The position involves translating client requirements into practical design concepts, supporting the introduction of new products into manufacturing, and collaborating with stakeholders across the business and supply chain. The engineering focus is on innovative, functional design within a regulated environment, often requiring certification

What You'll Be Doing

• Developing design concepts based on user and regulatory requirements
• Creating detailed design documentation using CAD tools
• Preparing technical drawings and visual documentation
• Supporting prototyping and testing activities on and off site
• Collaborating with production teams to ensure manufacturability
• Liaising with suppliers to optimise designs for quality and cost
• Participating in technical reviews and cross-functional meetings

Skills & Experience You'll Bring

• Degree-level qualification in Design or Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Aerospace
• Preferabley between 2 & 5 years of Design Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software for surface and assembly modelling
• Experience with AutoCAD and interpretation of technical drawings
• Knowledge of quality and compliance standards such as ISO 9001 / AS9100
• Familiarity with aerospace or defence certification standards is an advantage
