We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-focused Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on complex, technically challenging projects. This role involves producing high-quality technical drawings, 3D models, and design documentation to support multidisciplinary engineering and construction activities.
You will have strong CAD capability, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of engineering design principles. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys translating concepts into accurate, buildable designs within a collaborative project environment.
Key Responsibilities Produce detailed technical drawings and schematics using CAD software (including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks). Develop 3D models and visualisations using tools such as SketchUp and NavisWorks to support design coordination and project delivery. Work closely with engineers and project stakeholders to interpret technical requirements and design specifications. Prepare full construction drawing packages including plans, sections, elevations, and detailed fabrication/installation drawings. Review and amend drawings based on technical feedback, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Support integration of design data into wider project workflows and documentation systems. Carry out quality checks on all design outputs to maintain high technical standards.Skills & Experience Required Strong proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD (2D). Experience producing general arrangement and fabrication drawings. Working knowledge of additional platforms such as Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, SolidWorks, SketchUp, and NavisWorks (or similar). Good understanding of engineering and construction design principles. Ability to interpret technical specifications and convert them into clear, accurate drawings. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
