Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a pioneering medtech company specialising in innovative plastic moulded components and automation solutions within the healthcare and life sciences sector. You will play a critical role in developing and refining complex injection moulded plastics and polymer components, transforming novel concepts into manufacturable products that meet strict regulatory standards. * Proven experience in product or mechanical design, with a focus on plastics, polymers, and moulded components, particularly injection moulding processes.

* Hands-on experience designing, prototyping, testing, and iterating mechanical solutions within a regulated industry such as medtech, healthcare, or life sciences.

* Strong knowledge of materials properties, tolerancing, and processing parameters for plastics and polymer components.

* Ability to translate concepts through CAD modelling and detail drawings, with practical experience in physical prototyping and validation.

* Experience in design-for-manufacture, collaborating with tooling and production partners to scale prototypes into repeatable products.

* Familiarity with robotics, automation, or mechatronics applied within medical devices or healthcare equipment is advantageous.

* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to independently own projects from inception to delivery, balancing creativity with regulatory considerations.
