Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys designing products where precision, movement and functionality really matter?

I'm working with an established manufacturing business looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a background in designing and developing mechanical products, rather than large-scale machinery or fabricated structures.

This opportunity would particularly suit someone who has worked on products incorporating smaller, intricate moving parts, precision mechanisms and functional assemblies, taking designs from initial concept through to manufacture.

Your responsibilities will include:

Designing and developing mechanical products incorporating smaller moving components, precision mechanisms and functional assemblies

Taking designs from initial concept through prototyping and into production

Producing detailed 3D models, engineering drawings and technical documentation

Considering materials, tolerances and design for manufacture and assembly

Reviewing and improving existing products to enhance functionality and reliability

Resolving technical design challenges and working closely with colleagues throughout the development process

What I'm looking for:

Proven experience in mechanical product design and development

Experience designing smaller mechanical components, moving mechanisms or interacting assemblies

Strong 3D CAD skills, ideally SolidWorks

Experience taking designs from concept through to manufacture

Good understanding of mechanical principles, tolerances and manufacturing processes

Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects and solve technical problems
