Position: Mechanical Projects Design Engineer

Based in the Southwest of England, you will join a talented engineering team as a Mechanical Projects Design Engineer. Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you’ll play a key role in the design and development of both retractable and fixed tiered seating systems tailored to client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop retractable and fixed seating systems for public venues.

• Create detailed mechanical designs using SOLIDWORKS.

• Produce 3D models, assemblies, and 2D technical drawings for manufacturing.

• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and installation crews to ensure clear communication and accurate implementation of designs.

• Optimise designs and processes to improve cost-efficiency and simplify production and installation.

• Occasionally visit project sites in the UK and abroad to oversee and verify installation accuracy.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in mechanical design within the manufacturing sector.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Proficient in SOLIDWORKS and CAD/AutoCAD software.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques including steel fabrication, injection moulding, casting, and finishing.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Willing to undertake occasional travel for site visits.
