Mechanical Designer - Fusion 360

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical CAD Designer to join a busy engineering business in Preston on an initial three-month contract. You'll be designing bespoke mechanical equipment, developing concepts into detailed assemblies and manufacturing drawings for specialist machinery incorporating moving parts, mechanisms and automated systems.

This position would suit a practical Mechanical Designer with strong Autodesk Fusion 360 experience who is comfortable taking designs from initial concept through to manufacture. It will appeal to someone who enjoys designing machinery and fabricated assemblies while considering structural integrity, manufacturability and how equipment will operate in a real-world environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and mechanical designs using Autodesk Fusion 360
* Develop individual components and concepts into complete mechanical assemblies ready for manufacture
* Design bespoke machinery incorporating moving parts, mechanisms and simple robotic or automated systems
* Support stress analysis, structural calculations and the production of associated technical documentation
* Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure designs are practical, structurally appropriate and suitable for manufacture

In return you'll receive a rate up to £35/hr ltd, 40 hours per week and an initial 3-month contract with the potential to extend, with an immediate start available.
