Mechanical Draughtsperson

• Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 D.O.E

Reed’s client are seeking a Mechanical Draughtsperson to join their Engineering team. This role involves producing high-quality manufacturing drawings and developing detailed CAD models to meet technical requirements. The ideal candidate will work independently or as part of a team to develop new or existing products, ensuring they meet the mechanical technical standards of form, fit, and function.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

• Produce all detail and arrangement drawings required by the company in a timely manner.
• Check drawings produced by others to ensure drawing standards are met.
• Use IT packages effectively in engineering activities, including Excel, Word, and CAD (Inventor).
• Issue drawings using the company vault system (Autodesk Vault).
• Interpret engineering drawings, including vendor/supplier information.
• Manage project timescales to achieve or improve deadlines.
• Provide progress status reports to line management regularly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Essential: Mechanical Engineering Qualification.
• Desirable: Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control, good grades in Advanced level mathematics and physics, IMechE corporate membership, IOA membership.
• Experience in a responsible mechanical engineering position.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Experience working to structural design codes, knowledge of acoustic and noise control principles, design of fabrication details.
