Mechanical Technician – Building Services

Insight Executive are working exclusively with an established FM service provider who are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

Location: Wiltshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 + excellent benefits
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Mechanical Technician with a strong background in building services, mechanical maintenance, plumbing, heating or HVAC to join a well-established facilities management operation.

You will be responsible for maintaining critical mechanical building services within a large, complex and highly regulated environment, ensuring essential systems remain safe, compliant and operational.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance

*

Fault-finding, testing, servicing and repairs across mechanical building services

*

Maintaining boilers, pumps, heating and chilled water systems

*

Working on calorifiers, pressure systems and associated mechanical plant

*

Supporting ventilation systems, including AHUs, extract systems, fans and filters

*

Responding to plant failures, alarms, leaks and service interruptions

*

Completing accurate maintenance records through CAFM systems

*

Working in accordance with permits, RAMS, risk assessments and safe systems of work

*

Supporting emergency and out-of-hours maintenance requirements when required

About You

We're interested in speaking with Mechanical Technicians who have:

A recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent structured training

*

A relevant Level 3 qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent

*

Experience within mechanical building services, facilities management, commercial, industrial or similarly regulated environments

*

Strong fault-finding and mechanical maintenance experience

*

Experience with heating, ventilation, pumps, boilers or associated plant

*

An understanding of safe systems of work, permits and mechanical isolation

*

Experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems

*

A flexible approach to shift patterns, weekend working and emergency call-outs
