Mechanical Engineer - Timber Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance across the production site.
  

• Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
  

• Install and commission plant machinery.
  

• Maintain and repair gearboxes, motors, conveyors, and systems involving hydraulics and pneumatics.
  

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while promoting safe working practices.
  

Candidate Requirements

• Relevant engineering qualifications in mechanical maintenance or similar.
  

• Practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical fault finding.
  

• Experience with gearboxes, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors is highly desirable.
  

• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
  

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  

• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  

• Driving license required.
  

• Experience with mobile plant machinery is advantageous but not essential.
